Keely and Peter had a beautiful wedding at Mission Inn Resort, secluded by the beauty of old Florida and on the Marina, they said their vows under a custom built wooden arch draped with ivory canvas and floral and ivy garlands. The weather changed about every 10 minutes, with frequent rain scares and thunder – but in the end, we got a beautiful, windy day – which helped cool down the hot Florida April! Keely and Peter chose soft romantic shades of blush with hand-made paper flowers by An Affair to Remember!
On Sunday, Feb. 22, The Dairing Bride Academy came to Orlando. Armed with a celebrity speaker list of wedding pros, they gave newly engaged brides the inside scoop on how to make their wedding one for the record books! Brides joined in with morning yoga, breakfast and lunch provided by The Alfond Inn, a “chopped box” challenge and speakers from every arena of wedding planning! Their goal is all about educating brides and having fun while planning!
What a crazy fun day at Emily and RC’s Gatsby-themed wedding at the Orchid Garden in downtown Orlando! They set the place on fire… literally (well, technically not ON fire… but the alarms did go off and we were joined by some of Orlando’s finest from the local Fire Dept!) Emily and RC’s style was beyond perfect – lots of gold, glitter and amazing details for their stunning event! The Orchid Garden provided a gorgeous backdrop for their art-deco fete!
Lisa and Clark were married in a beautiful wedding at the exclusive Bella Collina in Montverde, Florida! Since we’re just getting our Waves started, Kristen helped us out by Waving while she photographed their event!
We had an amazing time celebrating with the families of Lisa Jardim and Fletcher Osborne at their St. Augustine, Florida wedding! We were joined with planning team An Affair to Remember for their navy and gold styled event! We were also joined with a great team of vendors, like Kristen Weaver Photography and Voila Cinematic! Enjoy their instagram feed from our Waver, their family and friends and professional photographer!
So where did this whole idea get started?
True story – my name is Kristen and I’m a wedding photographer who waited 8 perfect years to marry her groom. After being engaged for 6 of those years, we were ready to put everything we knew about weddings to the test! I came up with a (pretty lame) custom hashtag and tried to keep up with posting pictures of my journey – from dress fittings to honeymoon (which we’ll go on in June!). On the day of my wedding, I was stalking instagram looking for photos of my guests, little secret details and before and afters of the space! Just to be clear, I really wasn’t glued to my phone all day – but all I really cared about when I did pick it up was sharing what I was doing while my guests were sharing their moments. It was such a cool concept – like a big, giant, 200-person group chat where we gorged on each other’s outfit choices and hair styles. But more importantly, I got a view of my perfect wedding from everyone else’s vantage points.
Here’s the interesting part. Being a wedding photographer, I wanted to be SURE that I had an unplugged ceremony – and boy, did my guests take me seriously! Everyone was fully present in my day… listening, watching and crying right along with us. But it would have been just a little cool to have one person taking a few behind the scenes photos here and there. My professional photographer shouldn’t be pulled from their focus, and my guests were completely involved in the moment – so just one person who can shoot like a pro but with the view of a guest – it just started making sense to me!
What was once a little inkling baby idea in the back of my mind started to manifest itself in to a full blown concept.
I’m never quite sure where my ideas will go from here – but I’m hoping that we can put a little fun in to other couple’s weddings and bridge the gap between perspectives! I hope you’ll share in this journey with me!
